    General rules of Membership

    • a) Society consists of a General Assembly of Members and a Core Committee. The Core Committee may establish further categories of membership as it shall think fit and may levy different rates of contributions to different categories of members.
    • b) Membership in the society is a privilege, not a right. No individual shall be elected to membership or shall remain a member of the academy unless that individual is of good moral character and of high ethical and professional principles.
    • c) Members are entitled to participate in all the academic, social and cultural activities of the society.
    • d) A member may at any time resign his membership by giving 30 days’ notice in writing and on paying all his dues to the society. Such member is not eligible for refund or compensation by the Society. He/she is eligible for readmission in future on payment of fresh entrance fee and membership fee prevalent at that time.
    Classification of Membership
    1 General Body Member

    To be eligible for Membership of the association the applicant must be a qualified doctor either working or undergoing training in the field of emergency medicine.

    Minimum qualifications for a member - A member shall fulfill all the following criteria:

    • a) Basic medical qualification in modern medicine recognized by the medical council of India: MBBS
    • b) A postgraduate medical degree: DNB/MD Emergency Medicine OR any MCI-Recognized EM degree
    2 Associate Member Clinicians having MD/MS/DM/Mch in different specialties with special interest in Emergency Medicine can be associate members
    Membership Fee Membership fees of the Association shall be decided by the core committee of the association from time to time. It is proposed to collect Rs 2000/- as annual membership fee from all members until further revision by the core committee. No fees shall be collected from the Patron or Advisory board Member.
    Termination of Membership

    The governing body shall have the power to expel any member from the society on the following terms and conditions:-

    • a. By no confidence motion passed by 2/3rd majority of votes in the general body meeting.
    • b. On his/her written resignation.
    • c. He/Shehave not attended five consecutive meeting of general body without any intimation.
    The reason of termination of the membership shall be communicated to the member concerned.
    Appeals All the appeals should be referred to the general body. The decision of general body shall be final. The reason of rejection shall be communicated to the member concerned.
    Re-admission In case, Member is expelled by the general body, the same can be re-admitted provided the member concerned pays all up-to-date dues. The decision of general body shall be final.
